Are there any good GBA ROM hacks you know of that include 2 or more regions? (Preferably like a Kanto and Johto hack with a third region. Or just a game with one main series region added in plus an original region. The next Pokemon ROM on our agenda is Pokemon Theta Emerald, which is a remake of Pokemon Emerald (surprise surprise). The game itself just builds upon its predecessor and adds more playable Pokemon to the game, along with 600+ new combat moves. The game itself isn’t as much of a remake as it is more of an upgrade. Nintendo DS, full name Nintendo Dual Screen – handheld game console successor of the Game Boy Advance / Gameboy Advance SP. Its distinguishing feature – the presence of two screens. Controls are implemented with buttons, touch screen and built-in microphone, the console also supports Wi-Fi in the range of 10-30 meters. It supports stereo sound and it is compatible with GBA games. The console was released in 2004, from January 26, 2006 Nintendo DS Lite became available for purchase, characterized by smaller dimensions and greater brightness screens. In October 2008 it was announced a new model Nintendo DSi, even more thin, equipped with 2 cameras, the SDHC-card slot, 256 MB of internal flash memory and increased to 3.25-inches screen. Unfortunately, the slot for GBA games has been removed, also in DSi was implemented the protection from Homebrew software, including emulators. However, some computer enthusiasts have managed to break the protection and create emulation software.

Nowadays, Nintendo DS is a very popular system to emulate on modern systems, such as PCs, android and iOS devices. Nintendo DS games roms and emulator software are open to public and can be downloaded for free. If you always wanted to play Pokémon series games, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart DS and other games, but don’t have the console, it is time to try them out with the help of emulator.

Inspired by the likes of DahrkDaiz, ATA and other great rom hackers of the mid-2000s, Frantik started work on Super Mario Unlimited with the hopes of creating his own asm-heavy Mario masterpiece. It took close to 7 years, but eventually the game was released to the world in late 2011. Overall the hack was well received and was even featured in a video by James Rolfe of AVGN fame. Despite the popularity, it was a little rough around the edges, most notably with some questionable choices near the end and a little too much of that infamous “Nintendo Hard”.

In 2017 Frantik decided to go back and start adding a bit more polish, and Super Mario Unlimited - Deluxe was born. Everything good about the original has been made better, and everything bad has been removed, or at least cleaned up. This is the original vision Frantik had when he started 15 years ago!

Super Mario Unlimited Deluxe is a traditional-style Mario hack with difficulty ramping up from beginner to expert. It is based on the Super Mario Bros engine, but has been completely reworked into a whole new adventure.
